The Tecnam P2004 Bravo was introduced to the light sport aircraft market in the early 2000's. The Bravo is a single-engine light sport aircraft with a, cantilevered, high wing, side by side seating, in a tractor configuration.  The Tecnam P2004 Bravo is a multi-purpose aircraft that be used for the both recreational sport flying or as a two seat LSA trainer.

With the creation of the Sport Pilot rule and the Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) category, dreams of becoming a licensed pilot became more feasible for the average pilot. Tecnam, an Italian firm, has been building aircraft since 1948. The Tecnam P2004 Bravo is an attractive tricycle model that features a tapered cantilever wing with electrically operated flaps. The P2004 Bravo has a stabilator, and its empty weight is 620 pounds. Wingspan is 27.55 feet from and the length measures 21.56 feet.

From a distance the P2004 Bravo slightly resembles a Cessna 150 or 152, without wing struts, but the overall performance is superior. Power is supplied by the Rotax 912 ULS powerplant capable of 100 horsepower and a two-blade composite covered wooden propeller.

The instrument panel contains both standard instruments and an electronic alternative which should satisfy nearly every pilot’s preferences. Two people easily fit into the wide cabin, which features leather upholstery. Maximum speed in level flight at maximum continuous power is 120 knots, and the never exceed speed is 138 knots, with a service ceiling of 13,110 feet.

Pilot visibility is very good, and taxiing the P2004 Bravo is easy using the rudder pedals and steerable nosewheel.

After applying full throttle, the aircraft gains speed rapidly, but torque is noticeable. A slight amount of opposite rudder will easily compensate. The Tecnam will lift off after a slight rearward movement of the control yoke. The best climbing rate is at 68 knots of Indicated Air Speed, and cruising speed ranges from 100-113 knots. The P2004 Bravo is very responsive to the controls.
